Dr. Asen Kamenov is a specialist nephrologist in Sofia with over 17 years of medical experience. He performs diagnostics and modern treatment of various types of nephrological diseases - glomerulonephritis (primary and secondary), acute and chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis, inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract, kidney involvement in systemic diseases, arterial hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. He monitors patients with chronic kidney disease and manages preparation for initiating renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis). Dr. Kamenov does not examine children.

Education

He graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2007. He obtained his specialty in Nephrology in 2013. He holds a Master's degree in Health Management. He defended a doctoral thesis on the topic "Vascular Calcifications in Chronic Kidney Disease" in 2024.

Additional qualifications

Dr. Kamenov was an assistant in the Department of Pathophysiology at the Medical University of Sofia. He has worked in the Hemodialysis Unit at St. Ivan Rilski University Hospital. Since 2018, he has practiced at the First Clinic of Internal Diseases, Nephrology, Dialysis Treatment, and Rheumatology at the Medical Institute of the Ministry of Interior. He has also practiced at Rusev Medical Center in Sofia. Currently, he is part of the team of specialists at the Diagnostic-Consultative Center Alexandra Health. He is fluent in English and French.
